As you know, Ilario spent the weekend in Texas for events on Armed Forces Day  honoring fallen soldiers and their families.  Ilario was very touched by the warm reception he received and was honored to be included, not as a candidate for political office, but as a veteran and an American.   Honoring those who gave all is one thing that bonds Americans across state lines and political ideologies.  It is something that speaks to the very core of our values and our priorities.

There are NO WORDS that can express my appreciation and gratitude for your appearance here in Amarillo, Texas at the Gold Star Family Reception and the Celebrating Freedom & Honoring Service, Armed Forces Day Banquet.  As the Global War on Terrorism continues, we must continue our pro active support of our men and women who wear the military uniform and their families by honoring their service and sacrifice on the most important military holiday of the year, Armed Forces Day.
 
As President Harry S. Truman, once said, "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid.  They have earned our undying gratitude.  America will never forget their sacrifice."  My friend, your undying gratitude, patriotism, was as above and beyond the call of duty.  I simply say, I sincerely thank you on behalf of the citizens of Amarillo and the state of Texas. 

You touched the hearts of EVERY family member at the Gold Star Reception.  Your outreach to the children was simply amazing.  Thank you for lifting these children up and bringing a smile to each and all.  Your salute and tribute to our military on Saturday was very patriotic and Presidential.  You are a patriot with sincere feelings and heart for our military and the families of our Fallen Heroes.  My friend, thank you for choosing Amarillo Texas.
 
I challenge you to take this important tribute and remembrance with you on your campaign journey from North Carolina to Washington, DC.  WE NEED YOU IN CONGRESS REPRESENTING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
