SURGE

Pantano Releases “Surge” Ad Calling Out Congressman McIntyre for Voting Against the Surge and Voting Seven Times to Cut and Run from Iraq

Wilmington, NC:  The Pantano Campaign has released its latest campaign ad, entitled “Surge.”

The campaign released the ad in advance of President Obama’s speech tonight which will highlight the success of our troops in Iraq and the end of combat operations there. The ad highlights Congressman McIntyre’s record of voting seven times to cut and run from Iraq and his lack of support for our combat troops by voting against the “surge.” The ad also points out Pantano’s service as a Marine Infantry Platoon Commander  in Iraq and his commitment to always support our military.

“It is great that combat operations are finally ending in Iraq,” Pantano said upon release of the ad. “I applaud our troops and their commanders for sticking it out through a tough fight.  However if Congressman McIntyre, Pelosi, and Obama had their way back in 2007, when they voted on seven separate occasions to cut and run, we wouldn’t be experiencing this success. The surge would have never occurred, and we would have abandoned our troops and the Iraqis resulting in untold human tragedy.”

“President Obama and Congressman McIntyre  now want to take credit for the success of the surge that they voted against,” Pantano concluded “But when the going got tough Obama, Pelosi, and McIntyre voted to abandon our troops.  At a critical hour, when they needed to demonstrate true leadership, they failed the American People.  I will never do that.”

After hearing Mr. Pantano speak at various times, I am convinced that this man is the son every mother prays for;  the father every family needs, and the model leader that everyone wishes America had.  With Gods blessing, I pray that Mr. Pantano is elected to Congress, and someday elected President of the United States.  My hope is that he remain strong and focused and that the atmosphere of Washington D.C. never changes him.
